MEET TAMIKO WHITE, VIVA LA AMBASSADOR

Today we are thrilled to chat with Tamiko White - she is a powerhouse! An author, entrepreneur, media personality, fashion merchandiser and creative brand consultant, there's not much that Tamiko can't do. We love her personal style and her commitment to supporting creative talents, so it was only natural that she become a Viva LA ambassador. Please tell us about yourself!

My name is Tamiko White. I am a fashion entrepreneur, media personality and author. I love fashion, art, food, and all things lifestyle!

What did you love most about living in LA? If you could change one thing about it, what would that be?

I lived in LA years ago but have been back in NY for many years now. Mostly because my mom is here. I visit LA several times a year and consider it my 2nd home. 

If I could change one thing about LA, it’d be how far everything is. As a New Yorker, I’m used to multi-tasking in various locations in a single day. Hard to do in LA. 

Why did you choose the Viva LA Champion sweatshirt?

I chose the Viva LA Champion sweatshirt because I love cozy clothes. Champion has great fabric and the art I wanted was sold out. LOL!

I will wear my sweatshirt with a white collared shirt underneath. I wanted it to feel a bit tailored for my lives and Zooms.

What keeps you inspired?

Color, art, and my nails inspire me. When I need inspiration, I go for a walk with my dog Buddy. It allows me to get out of my head and just be. Thoughts just begin to flow. I often don't take my phone when I walk him so I can be alone with my creative voices.

What is your favorite message of hope?

My favorite message of hope is “walk by faith, not by sight.”

Who are some of your favorite artists?

I love so many artists but I'm really digging this artist I found on Clubhouse - @atribecalledjess (Jessica Roner). I am going to commission her for a piece this year.

What are you most excited to do once COVID is over?

I am most excited to get to LA. I am coming back in March and will probably be there for a couple weeks! First thing is a hike!
